Over the past two months I was able to try out many new products and rediscover some old faves as well. April was hectic with the production of The Rocky Horror Show happening but it gave me an excuse to buy more beauty products.

So without further adieu, let’s get started.

Beauty:

Eyes/Brows:

Urban Decay Naked 3- Pretty sure I’ve mentioned this before but this has been my go-to pallet for the past two months. The blush toned neutrals are perfect for everyday wear and when I want to darken it up for a night look.

Maybelline MasterPrecise Liquid Liner pen- This is my favorite drugstore liner pen. It’s nice and sharp to help achieve a precise winged look which is nice because I almost always do winged liner.

NYX Cake Brow Powder in Medium- For when I want a more natural brow look, this is my go-to. It’s fine enough that it fills in my brows without causing them to look too dark which is easy to do when you have dark brows -perfect for brunettes and those with black hair.

Make Up For Ever SmokyExtravagant Mascara- This lengthens my lashes and gives them so much volume! I would use this to prep my lashes for falsies which I had to wear for Rocky Horror.

Kiss i-Envy Lashes +glue- Speaking of lashes, the i-Envy line from Kiss has amazing lashes. It’s premium human hair and they have lashes that range from natural to more dramatic. I not only wore these for the show but I wore them on nights out too.

Milani Gel PowderEyeshadow in Bella Gold- These gel eyeshadows are super pigmented and add the right amount of glam to your look. You can use them wet or dry to add intensity.

Face:

Covergirl LooseTranslucent Power- This powder is seriously amazing. It sets your makeup without making it look cakey and helps with oil control.

Loreal Infallible 24hr MatteFoundation in Sun Beige- Now, I usually don’t wear foundation but I needed it for the show. This foundation is worth all the hype. It dries to a demi-matte finish and it looks natural on the skin. It held up during our double feature and I had it on from 4 p.m. to at least 2 a.m. That includes dancing non-stop and being under bright stage lights. I apply it with my beauty blender to help sheer it out.

NYX Matte SettingSpray- Amazing. It helped my makeup stay on flawlessly and it actually keeps your face matte. Your makeup stays in place all day.

Elf ContouringBlush/Bronzer duo in St. Lucia- This came in handy during the show. It’s pigmented and blends out easily. The blush had a hint of shimmer, helping add some highlight to my cheeks.

Contour + Highlighting Kit- I lucked up and found this contour kit while at Ross. Super random but the powders are quite pigmented and easy to blend.

Maybelline Hi-Light Blush in Nude- One of my all-time faves. The colors blend together to create a rose gold shimmer and it looks amazing, especially in the light. It’s comparable to Mac’s Soft n Gentle.

Lips:
Swatches from L-R: Touch of Spice, Cherry Bomb, Pink Soufflé, Blushing

Sephora Cream LipStain in Pink Soufflé - These things do not budge on your lips. They dry matte and aren’t drying.

Maybelline CreamyMatte Lipstick in Touch of Spice- I wore this almost every other day. It’s a creamy matte so it’s not drying and feels comfortable on your lips. It’s a dark nude with a hint of pink, comparable to Mac’s Velvet Teddy.

Wet n Wild MatteLipstick in Cherry Bomb- I love a good dark red lip and this was my go-to during Rocky.

LA Girl Glazed Lip Paint in Blushing- I love a good blush toned nude and this was no exception. I normally don’t wear glosses but the formula isn’t sticky or overly glossy so it feels nice. Comparable to Too Faced Liquid Lipsticks.

Fashion:
Tropical romper fromCato’s- I was skeptical about trying a romper because I didn’t know how it would look on me but I instantly fell In love with this! It has a nice fit and it’s so comfy. Plus, I love green and black. I’m on the romper bandwagon now.

Black lace shortsfrom Forever 21- So comfy! I wanted some shorts that were more comfortable than jean shorts and these are flowy but still have a nice shape.

Black V cutout tankfrom Target- I love tanks like this because it’s so easy to dress them up or down. It’s flattering and perfect for the summer.

Blue + Silver Sandals from Palm Beach- I wear this style sandal all the time. They literally go with anything.

Movies:

The Avengers: Age of Ultron- Are you kidding me? As if I could have a favorites list and NOT mention the Avengers. The film was absolutely amazing, I loved the introduction of Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch into the MCU, I immediately fell in love with their characters. The only issues were: the unnecessary love story between Nat and Banner and the fact that Linda is Clint’s wife and not me.

Pitch Perfect 2- It was Aca-Amazing. Duh. The more I watch this and the first film, the more I realize that I’m Aubrey.

Music:

Fifth Harmony “Worth It”- I can’t control myself when this song comes on.

Nicky Minaj ft. Beyonce “Feeling Myself”- I feel beyond fierce when I hear this.

Taylor Swift ft. Kendrick Lamar “Bad Blood” remix- As if I wouldn’t include this. That video gave me so much life.

Hello loves,

It’s time to turn out the lights, light those sensual candles from Bath and Body Works you’ve been dying to try, and put on your sexy time playlist because we’re about to get a little scandalous.

No but really, we’re about to go to the sexier side of things and discuss lingerie. Something I’ve never been comfortable in until I had to come out of my comfort zone when I performed in a production of The Rocky Horror Show. Prancing around in a tutu, fishnets, and a corset will definitely change you. Embrace it.

The site Adore Me has some of the most beautiful lingerie pieces and sets that you can mix and match to fit your liking and personality. Whether it’s sweet and flirty, or dark and sultry, they have something for all of your tastes.

Being a fan of the darker and edgier looks I gravitated towards anything black and lacey. Some of the pieces I picked out were the Annmarie and the Jacquelyn.
Then of course, I had to pick out a corset, the Heidi was absolute perfection! A perfect dupe for the corset I rocked while on stage for Rocky Horror so I was right at home in this. Corset’s are amazing for showing off your figure and accentuating your curves in the best way. Adore Me caters to women of all shapes and sizes.

Given the fact that I love a good smoky eye, that’s exactly what I would pair this with. Something bronzy, with the right hint of darkness to accentuate the eyes, and of course topped off with my signature winged liner and a pair of lashes.

The lashes I’ve been using recently are the ones from the i-Envy line from Kiss. They’re so comfortable and they add the right amount of drama to your look.

For lips, I would go for one or two ways. I would either go for my go-to red lip or keep it neutral with a darker nude.
Two of my favorites!

To amp up the look, I would either add- a comfy flannel and thigh highs or- a black, lace shawl. It represents my style completely: cool and comfy, and dark and edgy.
Forget high waisted shorts, pair that with some lingerie and you're good to go & literally just LOOK at Naya Rivera in that flannel.

That’s honestly all I need, just put on Do I Wanna Know by the Arctic Monkeys and I’m good. Because if the lingerie is coming out, I’m staying in *insert smirk emoji*

Head over to Adore Me's sexy lingerie page check out their collections and mix and match your favorite picks to create a look just for you!

Till next time,

As my time at my current college comes to a close, I’m reminded of all of the experiences and memories of my collegiate years.

I went to a small, private, liberal arts college in a tiny town in North Carolina. To say that we had to make the most of what we had is an understatement. The most we could do in town was shop at Target or go to Chili’s, unless we wanted to drive 30 minutes to an hour to go to an actual mall.
From bedside chats and road trips, to stumbling home on a Friday night and drunken nights at Denny’s, we’ve been through it all together. The bond we share goes beyond most because we lived together, and if you were off campus you were no more than a walk down the street. We were there for each other through the good, the bad and the ugly on a day-to-day basis. We had no problem getting together at the drop of a dime no matter the occasion.

Now, everything’s changing. I’m not going to be able to walk down the hall or across the street to see you. I’m not going to be able to drink way too much with you every weekend and then talk about it the next morning in the café. You’re the ones I wanted by my side for everything and I can’t thank you enough for being there and dealing with the craziness that is college life.

1.      There’s no one else I’d rather have see me at my absolute worst because I’ve also seen you at your worst.

2.      There’s also no one else I’d rather have by my side when I’m at my best. We were each other’s biggest supporters through everything.

3.      I will cherish our drunken conversations.

4.      Our bedside chats where we laughed and cried together will always be some of the best moments. Whether we were talking about nonsense, gossip or some fuckboy who ruined our night- it didn’t matter. We were up til the wee hours of the morning dealing with it.

5.      Seriously, who else would I rather dance on a bar, or a couch with? The nights when we commanded the dance floor were the best nights. I wouldn’t want to do the wobble with anyone else.

6.      Thank you for helping me grow and inspiring me. There’s no way I would have become the strong, independent woman I am today without you.

7.      With that being said, never forget that you too are a strong, capable woman who does not need the attention of a man to define your self-worth. You are worth so much more.

8.      I appreciate the fact that we could always be honest with each other.

9.      Thank you for being my partners in crime. Whether It was needing a partner in beer pong, flip cup, or someone to go in half for late-night Dominoe’s, we had each other’s backs.

10.  Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

Well, now I’m going to go pour me a glass of wine and listen to 100 Years by Five for Fighting and cry.

Y’all are the best and I can’t wait till we’re reunited so we can drink at all of the on campus events as alumni so we can reminisce about the old days aka “we all saw each other a few months ago but whateves it still counts”.
