I know I just did a tag but I seriously could not pass this one up. Thank you SO much to Sarah Hawkinson for this tag because Harry Potter is my everything. Favorite book

My favorite book is definitely the Goblet of Fire. This is the book that I re-read the most. I just loved the Tri-Wizard Tournament so much. Visualizing what I thought the games would look like in my head was the most fun; it’s one of my favorite things about this series in general. Even though Diggory’s death was upsetting for me, this book was the most fun for me to read.

Favorite movie

Favorite movie, definitely Prisoner of Azkaban. It was when the movies first started to get darker regarding the look and feel of the movie and the storyline. I loved seeing the dementors in action learning about the Patronus Charm. Professor Lupin is one of my favorite characters so I loved seeing him and watching him interact with the others. I know some people don’t particularly like this film, but it’s my favorite HP movie. I watch it all the time.

Least favorite book

I don’t think I have a “least favorite” per say, but one book that I don’t go back to as often is the Chamber of Secrets. I absolutely love the story; I just don’t read it as often.

Parts of the books/movies that made you cry

Pretty much anytime someone died- I cried like a baby. The deaths that affected me the most were definitely Snape and Fred. The scene where Snape dies in Deathly Hallows Part 2 made me cry like a baby. It was so heartfelt getting to actually see his story and how much he truly cared for Lily and for Harry. Snape is such an amazing character so it was hard seeing him go. Fred’s death was emotional because the Weasley twins are two of my all-time favorites, seeing Fred lying there lifeless was hard but I didn’t sob until George turned around and I saw his face. I ugly cried so hard.

If you could hook up with any HP character who would it be?

Definitely Draco Malfoy or Ron Weasley. Draco is just, all kinds of fine and I would get sleazy for Ron Weasley in a heartbeat. Although, Neville Longbottom is looking mighty fine as well…I might have to get back to you.

Favorite character

Luna Lovegood and Hermione Granger: two badass witches. They’re both really strong female characters in their own way. Hermione was an independent woman who was constantly looked down upon because she was muggle-born but didn’t let that stop her from being the most intelligent, brilliant and baddest witch in Hogwarts. Constantly saving Harry and Ron’s ass in every single book. Luna is such a great character because she’s so proud of who she is. She’s not afraid to be who she is and love what she loves and say what she feels even though others make fun of her. She stands up for herself and demands to be heard.

What would your Patronus be?

A lion. A fierce feline would be the perfect Patronus for me

If you could have the Resurrection Stone, Invisibility Cloak or the Elder Wand which one would you choose?

The Invisibility Cloak, definitely. The possibilities are endless. The other two just carry too much baggage. The Elder Wand is too much power, it would drive me insane. Plus, anyone who’s ever seen Pet Sematary knows that what’s dead- is better off dead.

What House would you be in?

Gryffindor. One of the things that these books have taught me is how to be brave and stand up for what I believe in, for others, and in myself. I’ve had to be strong my entire life and even though it gets rough you still have to hold on and be strong to get through and make it another day. Gryffidors are brave, strong and have a lot of nerve and those are qualities that I value.

If you could meet any member of the cast who would it be?

Well, I would definitely love to meet everyone but I really want to meet Oliver and James Phelps. The Weasley Twins are my babies and I love them. They brought me so much joy so meeting the Phelps twins in really life would be the best thing to ever happen to me.

Have you played any of the video games?

No. I was never much of a gamer as a kid.

If you were on the Quidditch team which position would you play?

I would love to be a chaser. Chasers are usually really agile and swift so by background in dancing would come in handy. Being a beater would be nice too, I’m good with bats. 

Were you happy with the ending?

I was really happy with the ending. I’m a sucker for happy endings and seeing everything come full circle so seeing everyone send their kids off to Hogwarts was satisfying.

How much does Harry Potter mean to you?

Harry Potter is my entire childhood. I spent most of my years re-reading and re-watching these movies. I would spend my time daydreaming and creating scenarios in my head of what it would be like if I went to Hogwarts. Harry Potter was my escape from reality, I could leave the real world for a while and visit Hogwarts where everything was magical and I could pretend to be something more than myself and pretend to save the world. Harry Potter helped shape me into the person I am today, it’s brought me so much joy and it’s something I’ll be passing down to my children and so on. I owe a lot to Harry Potter.

Hello all! I recently came across the “What Beauty Product Tag” created by the lovely, Belle-amie. If you haven’t already, definitely check out her blog here, it’s amazing! I really love tags, they’re an awesome way to get to know someone and learn more about the things they love so this tag was perfect. Now, without further adieu, here’s the “What Beauty Product Tag,” enjoy!

1. You’re about to head out for a night out with the girls. What lipstick and lip gloss combo do you put on to make yourself feel gorgeous? 
It depends on what eye look I’m rocking that night. If I’m wearing something more neutral and simple I definitely grab something more bold for my lips. I love red lips so I’ll mostly grab my Revlon Colorburst Matte balm in Standout. It’s matte so it lasts a long time. I’m also obsessed with dark vampy lips so my Milani lipstick in Black Cherry is perfect. If I’m wearing a dramatic eye I’ll reach for my Maybelline Color Elixir in Blush Essence or my NYX Butter Gloss in Apple Strudel.

2. You’re running late for school/ work and need to leave the house in 5 minutes! Which 3 essential makeup products do you apply for a naturally beautiful look? 
I definitely go for eyeliner, mascara and lip gloss. A little eye liner and mascara can go a long way, especially if you’re just waking up and trying to get ready for class in a short amount of time. It just helps me look more put together and awake. Lip gloss is an essential of mine. It helps to add a little shine so you look more refreshed.

3. You’re packing for a week away on holiday. What “all in one” eye shadow palette do you bring with you? 

My Too Faced Joy to the Girls palette. It’s literally one of my favorite things that I own. It has a nice mix of mattes and shimmer shadows so I can create daytime looks and then add a little drama for a night out. It has a great range of colors.

4. You’re heading to the beach on a Summer’s day and will be wearing your favourite bikini. What nail polish shade do you wear on your fingers and toes to complete the look?

Something bright and fun. Bright pinks, blues and corals are generally what I tend to gravitate towards.

5. You’re getting ready for a date night to a new restaurant in town. Which perfume do you pick out from your collection to impress him?
I don’t own many perfumes; I tend to go for body sprays, or mists. One of my favorites is Sensual Amber from Bath and Body Works so I’d probably grab that. It’s warm and inviting and it seems like the perfect thing to wear for a nice dinner.

6. You’re spending the weekend away and you only want to pack your beauty basics. What 3 brushes/ tools do you bring to do your makeup? 
My main domed shadow brush, my blending brush, and a pencil brush. Most of the time if I’m just doing my eyes so I’d bring something to create eye looks.

7. You’ve just woken up to crazy bed hair and have no time to wash it. What hair products do you use to tame your unruly locks? 

My hair doesn’t really get unruly in the mornings (knock on wood).I would probably just throw it up in a messy bun so I’d definitely grab a gel-like product to smooth things down. My favorite is the original Smooth and Shine pink gel. It smoothes everything and doesn’t make my hair hard. It’s soft and manageable and looks glossy-not greasy.

8. Your friend wants to expand her makeup collection and asks for your help. What high street product and what high end product do you recommend her to try?

Some high street, or drugstore, products I would recommend are the NYX Butter Glosses. They’re extremely moisturizing and pigmented. They smell ah-mazing and are comfortable to wear. The Maybelline Hi-Lite highlighting blushes are great. The color “Nude” is really comparable to Mac’s Soft and Gentle. It’s a great cheek highlighter. As for high end, I would definitely recommend the Urban Decay Naked line. The Naked palettes are all amazing, especially the basics. They’re perfect for creating tons of different looks. I would also recommend the Tarte Amazonian Clay blushes. They’re SO pigmented and the clay really helps lock in the color for a long time.

I recently did a little shopping at a couple different places and these are the things I picked up along the way. Just a little something here and there. Nothing like a little retail therapy to cure these winter blues while we anxiously wait for spring break. This is only the beginning because I'll be making another trip soon because competition season is right around the corner and I need new products in my makeup bag!

Rimmel London Scandaleyes waterproof eyeliner in "Nude". I'm so in love with it. It's really creamy and looks really good on the lower waterline to create that "big, round eyes" look. It's less harsh than white liner so it's perfect. 

Maybelline 24hr Color Tattoo Metal in "Silver Strike". These color tattoos are really pigmented and go on smooth. They can act as a base for your shadows or you can wear them alone. I needed a good silver for my competition makeup and I needed something that was going to last and not crease. These are great for just that.

Maybelline Color Elixir in "Blush Essence". These color elixir glosses are insane. The pigmentation is really good and it goes on smoothly. The doe foot applicator is soft and glides the gloss on the lips. I really like the color because it's perfect for everyday wear, it's like a "my lips but better" type color. The brighter shades are perfect for spring. I'm obsessed and need more colors like...now!

Milani Ultra Fine liquid eyeliner in "Black Oynx". This is my new pride and joy. I recently picked this gem up at CVS because I ran out of my Revlon Color Stay liquid eye pen and this is definitely my new holy grail eyeliner. It's so black, the pigmentation is amazing. The brush is small and makes putting on eyeliner so easy. I'm a winged eyeliner fanatic and this made my wing so sharp and precise, it's amazing. I got so many compliments on my eyeliner when I wore this. It's amazing.

Forever 21 Marvel muscle tee. Everyone that knows me knows I am completely obsessed with everything Marvel, so when I saw this in Forever 21 I almost died in the store. It has two of my all-time faves on the front, Thor and my baby Captain America and of course a little Spider-Man never hurts. With spring right around the corner I can't wait to wear this baby out.

I came across these running shorts at Walmart the other night and had to get them. They're really comfortable and I love the fact that these don't have the weird liner in the inside, which some people like but I find it annoying. Obsessed with the pink.

Forever 21 geo print skater dress. I love dresses. Dresses are great because first of all- no pants. Second, they make it look like you put in some effort when really you just threw it on before you ran out the door to get to class. I love this print, the colors work really good together. My favorite think about this dress is definitely the little bow cut-out in the back. Little cut-out detail like that are so cute to me. Forever 21 has a lot of different dresses that have interesting patterns and cut-outs and I need them all.

I'm a huge fan of collar button down shirts and my eyes are immediately drawn to anything coral-y so I went straight to this when I saw it in Ross. It has a subtle high-low bottom and it's so comfortable. Ross is a great place to find dresses for a really good price.

Charlotte Russe was having a sale on accessories and I fell in love. I love long necklaces because they're so simple and it's a nice break from my statement pieces when I want something a bit more toned down. The spike and the triangle pendant instantly drew me in. I love bows and of course I grabbed the pack of earrings that had the bows. My other faves are the baby pink flowers and the spikes. It just adds a little something extra to your look.

I might not have had a valentine but that didn't stop me from buying things for myself so I can smell delicious while I watched the Avengers all day. I was so in love with the XOXO scene by Bodycology that I recently went out and bought a second bottle from Walmart. It's such a flirty and girly scent. It has lemon sorbet, raspberries and musk and it's nice and warm and everything I love in a scent. It's perfect for spring and even summer.

Freddy, my personal favorite. Freddy Kruger is a dream stalker who kills children in their sleep in order to get revenge on the parents that burned him alive years ago. Freddy is my main squeeze, he could stalk my dreams anytime.

2. Jason Voorhees

Jason, my special, special boy. Jason Voorhees is the hockey-masked killer that stalks promiscuous teens that go to Camp Crystal Lake. I would have crafted him a V-Day gift at camp.

3. Michael Myers

Michael Myers is a villain that’s often described as “pure evil.” Well, I would send “pure evil” a Valentine’s Day card.

4. Lola (The Loved Ones)

Lola, is a sick girl who kidnaps whatever guy she has her eye on and when her weird advances are rejected she subjects them to a night of torture. Not to mention this weird incestuous relationship this she has going on with her father. Maybe Lola just needed more V-Day cards in her basket in 2nd grade?

5. May (May)

May is a quiet girl who just really wanted a friend. Well, May eventually got a friend…that has a special piece of all her favorite people in her life. It’s quite sweet, demented, but sweet. Maybe this Valentine’s Day will go good for her?

6. Annie Wilkes (Misery)

I’m a total fangirl, I’ve had my favorite character killed off my favorite series before (Fred Weasley, Kevin Tran, Meg Masters, Bobby Singer, The Ponds, Lexi Grey, I can go on). So I can definitely see where Annie Wilkes is coming from…sort of. Annie just wanted to make sure the object of her affection wasn’t killed off by author, Paul Sheldon. Psychos need love too.

7. Harry Warden (My Bloody Valentine)

Harry Warden was the survivor of a mining accident in the town of Valentine Bluffs the night of the big V-Day dance. He survived the mining explosion and survived by eating the bodies of the fallen miners. Harry took revenge on his supervisors later by killing them with a pickaxe and ripping their hearts out and placing them in heart-shaped chocolate boxes, warning the town to never have another Valentine’s Day dance or more people will die. 20 years later, the town decides to have a dance because, hey- Warden’s locked in an institution. Nope, Warden breaks out and all hell breaks loose. Someone just should have sent him an invitation.

8. Frankenstein’s Monster

Frankenstein’s Monster is just a misunderstood creature. Maybe if someone would have taken the time to show him some affection, everything would have been fine.

9. Billy Loomis (Scream)

Oh Billy, you psychotic and cute thing you. Billy had some rough mommy issues. Not being able to cope with the fact that his mother left him and his father after discovering that he had an affair with Maureen Prescott, Sidney’s mom, he decided to take matters into his own hands and he and his friend Stu murder Maureen. He just needs a hug from his mother…oh wait…

10. Candyman

Candyman is the spirit of a man named Daniel Robitaille who was a slave that fell in love with the daughter of a white plantation owner. He was chased down, covered in honey and thrown into a beehive but not before they cut off his hand with a rusty saw. Before he died he cursed the men who wronged him. Say his name five times in front of the mirror and he’ll come to wish you “Happy Valentine’s Day.” Candyman. Candyman. Candyman…

I recently watched Meghan Rosette’s new video (Which if you haven’t seen yet, what are you waiting for? Click here to watch!) I was instantly inspired to do this tag. It’s the girl power tag and it’s absolutely perfect. I’m all for anything that deals with empowering women and helping girls see their full potential so this tag was perfect. Let’s get started.

1.What does Girl Power mean to you?

Girl Power, to me, is all about loving yourself for who you really are. It’s about learning to love everything about yourself that makes you, you. All of your imperfections, your quirks, all of the things that you usually try to hide or the things that other people might judge you for – those are the things that make you truly beautiful. Having girl power is all about owning who you are and showing the world just how brave you are and following your dreams and most importantly- your heart. Love the people in your life that make you happy but above all, love yourself. Be fierce!

2. What is the best advice you can give to girls who want to be powerful?

Stop caring about what other people think. It’s probably one of the hardest things to do; it’s something I still struggle with. Do things for yourself that make YOU happy and don’t worry about living up to other people’s expectations of you. At the end of the day the person that you need to make happy, is yourself. Don’t let other people dictate things for you or make you feel less than because of something they don’t like or try to be who someone else wants you to be. Don’t change who you are for anyone. Choose how you want to live your life and do what makes you happy and live your life to the fullest.

3. If you could have any super power, what would it be and how would you use it?

I would want the ability to teleport. Getting places would be so much easier. Like, I would never be late to class or anything else…ever.

4. Show us your best girl power (picture) pose.

This is a picture of me and my little from my sorority. Best power pose ever. For me, any power pose is anything with my hand on my hip, or just any pose where I feel sassy and fabulous!

5. What beauty product makes you feel powerful?

My lipstick. Lipstick is probably my favorite thing to wear, especially red lipstick. I want lips as red as the blood of my enemies. Whenever I wear red lipstick I feel so empowered like I can go out and save the world from a zombie apocalypse. I don’t even know how those things go together but that’s how powerful I feel. Eyeliner is pretty important to me as well. I want winged eyeliner so sharp I could kill a man.

6. Why is it important to have power girls as role models?

It’s important for girls to have a powerful girl role model in their life so they have someone to inspire them. Having a role model in your life is so important because you have that someone special that you look up to in order to inspire you to do things you never thought you could really do before. Representation is so important because when a girl finds someone that they feel they can look up that they can see themselves in it can really change their life. It shows girls that they can truly be whatever they want to be and to not be afraid to go for what they want because they CAN do it. Whether it’s your mother or another family figure or a celebrity, having someone that inspires you to love yourself, be strong, and to not let anything hold you back is important.

7. What young up and comer do you think is powerful and why?

Jennifer Lawrence, this girl is my ultimate girl crush, no shame at all. Jennifer Lawrence is someone who has never been afraid to say what’s on her mind, show her real side, and show off how proud she is of her body. Jennifer has always been very vocal about how she feels about trying to change how you look in order to fit what society thinks is “in.” Whether you’re a size 2 or a size 22, you’re a real woman and you’re beautiful- no matter what.  Jennifer recently said in an interview: “There are shows like "The Fashion Police" that are just showing these generations of young people to judge people based on all the wrong values and that it's OK to point at people and call them ugly or fat. They call it "fun" and they say "welcome to the real world" -- and that shouldn't be the real world, it's going to continue being the real world if we keep it that way. We have to stop treating each other like that and stop calling each other fat.” Girl, I couldn’t agree more!

Demi Lovato. This is a girl I’ve looked up to for years. Demi is one of the most important people in my life for my own personal reasons. As someone who has dealt with and eating disorder, mental illness and self-harm, seeing Demi be strong enough to say she needs help and be brave enough to talk about it and to finally get comfortable with herself is so inspiring. To have someone in the media that I truly identified with because she’s my age and was dealing with the same things and to see her come out on top, meant so much to me and truly inspired me on my own journey to get better. Every day is a battle and sometimes it’s hard not to relapse but Demi’s journey inspires me every day to be brave enough to move forward and be strong. "To me, I don’t think it does anybody any good to just hide something or cover it up or lie or whatever. I think ... that’s what being a role model is all about. It’s not about being perfect. It’s about speaking about your issues and inspiring others to get help." Demi, that’s exactly why you’re my role model and for that-I thank you.

Carli Bybel

Carli Bybel is a makeup artist that hails from New Jersey. I came across Carli’s YouTube account in early 2013 and was hooked. Aside from makeup and beauty, Carli also runs a fashion blog called TheFashionBybel and let me just tell you how I desperately need to go shopping with this girl. Carli was recently featured on an episode of Project Runway where she got the opportunity to model a custom outfit and help with the inspiration (Spoiler Alert: the outfit she modeled won!)

Carli quickly became one of my most watched beauty gurus on YouTube in a short amount of time. I check her channel all the time for new hauls, monthly favorites and of course the tutorials. She starts her videos with an inspirational quote and that’s something that I really love, it’s just a little something extra that personalizes her videos. Carli also has a second channel called The Inner Beauty Bybel, which features vlogs, personal videos and motivational videos. I love her get ready with me’s because I love to see her outfits and how she styles them. This girl has some serious style and her closet is insane. I also have some serious hair envy because Carli’s hair is insanely beautiful. Whenever I can get my hair to somewhat resemble hers I know it’s going to be a good day. You definitely need to check out her channels- you’ll be glad you did.
