February Style Spotlight

Alison Henry

As we enter into the first week of March it’s time to reflect on who I was obsessing over during the month of February. My pick for the February Style Spotlight is Alison Henry, better known as AlisonLovesJB on YouTube. I first came across one of her makeup tutorials a few years ago and was blown away by her skills. Alison is a 21 year old, self-taught makeup artist from Atlanta. Her channel AlisonLoveJb, has tons of in depth makeup tutorials, hair tutorials, hauls and more for her viewers to enjoy. This blue-eyed beauty has some serious skills. Her Instagram account that features her makeup portfolio gives me so much life (#makeupgoals).

Her style is a mix of girly, boho-chic and edgy. Markkit, a style boutique that I’ve mentioned before where YouTube personalities and other influencers can go and create their own clothing line and collections, features a clothing and accessories line designed by Alison. There, you can find bags, long charmed necklaces, flannels and more. Everything my little heart desires, is in this collection. Definitely check it out and explore other collections as well! Alison has tutorials for tons of looks, whether you’re feeling dramatic or classic that day. I’ve followed many of her tutorials before and tried things that I ended up loving. One of my favorite looks she’s ever done was her music festival tutorial- BEYOND GORGEOUS. Definitely check her channel out, you need her in your life.

December Style Spotlight

Nicole Guerriero

November and the beginning of December were absolutely hectic. Preparing for finals, writing papers, finishing up projects all while having like five mental breakdowns a day can really wear you down. Ah, the joys of being a college student. But, now that that’s over with, let’s get to my pick for December Style Spotlight: Nicole Guerriero!

Nicole is a YouTube beauty guru with amazing style- seriously. Girl rocks a top bun like no other *insert hair flip emoji*. Also, can we just take a moment to appreciate her brow game? Cause it’s strong. With her ever-changing style and electric personality, Nicole’s videos are a pleasure to watch. Her tutorials and “get ready with me’s” are fun and easy to follow which makes following along a breeze. I’ve followed a number of her tutorials- especially the hair tutorials (seriously, can I just have a fraction of your fabulous-ness?).  She explains things in a way that’s easy to understand and tells you about the products she’s using in order to give the viewer a complete inside look into what’s happening. Nicole has an intense collection of lip products, a girl after my own heart! When I’m in need of some new products for my collection, I go to Nicole, it’s like she’s my beauty bestie.

I can already tell you I plan to recreate some of her looks for the holidays. Her obsession with all things glitter comes in handy quite often but especially around this time of year when you want to glam up your look. Definitely check her out!

September Style Spotlight:

Casey Holmes

Sorry there was no August spotlight, SO much was happening in August and I got a little off track. BUT, alas, here’s my September spotlight!

My pick for September is the lovely Casey Holmes, or “It’s Blondie.” With over 688,712 subscribers, Casey is definitely a force to be reckoned with in the beauty community. This Georgia peach has had her YouTube channel since January of 2012. Her channel is filled with in-depth makeup and hair tutorials, beauty tips and hauls, and style videos. Casey’s personality shines through in everything she does. Also, she has the cutest dogs, seriously.

I’ve been subscribed to Casey’s channel for about two years now; her videos are creative and very easy to follow if you want to recreate her looks. I love watching her videos and hearing her southern accent slip through because as a girl with a thick southern accent it makes her videos that much more enjoyable. It’s like we’re besties.
